kyiv

Russian architecture and scandalous fashion make Kyiv, Ukraine a very eccentric city to see. I only wished I could've stayed longer.

dirt diggers

An early picture I took of my second host family, working in their green house. I live right down the street from them now and even bring my food scraps to their chickens almost every other day, but I will never hear the end of "why haven't you come to see us sooner?"

myths of a mountain

Two young men I met while shooting farm workers last weekend, taking a break from their endless questions they proposed to me. It was a bright sunny day and Mt. Ararat, which can be seen but just slightly, was yawning in the background in full clear view. I never can tell, I'm sure that I am way off, but from the road it appears that that mountain would be a piece of cake not only to climb but to walk to as well (beside the fact that it's in Turkey). Legend has it that Noah's Ark is parked somewhere inside the mountain. Yup, inside the mountain. So outlandish you've gotta love it.

best for last

I planned on taking pictures of roadside farmers. So I spent about 4 hours trying to, and at the end of the day while I waited for a bus to come pick me up this family came out of their house, crossed the road, wondered what I was doing by the road, and eventually invited me to their house. I don't have one good picture of those farmers, but these three pictures turned out to be the best I took all day.
