A few questions for you if/when you have time:
1. What kind of camera/equipment do you use?
2. How do you keep the stuff safe?
.. I've been nominated to Central/South Am- and am on the last leg of med. clearance. The safety of equipment.. it's a concern and any insight is appreciated!

Congrats! I wanted that part of the world myself, but here I am in Armenia. PC is good, hard but good. And I encourage you to experience that.
My camera is a Canon 30D. I'm never worried about my camera being "unsafe" but that's probably a personal thing. I'd say just go and do as normal. You'll make many friends with it, very fast.
